Figures in Extinction

★★★★★
Awesome dance troupe with incredible skill and talent

Over the last four years, fuelled by the urgency of our times and the increasing global destruction they were witnessing, Pite and McBurney have weaved their hopes and fears for our current moment into this moving and timely dance trilogy. The show is a cross-continental conversation split into an evening of three half-hour works which fuse dance, performance, spoken word, documentary and music.

Occasionally you come across a show that takes your breath away. When it all comes together so elegantly – the dancers, the story, the choreography, the video, the sound, the lighting, the costumes and the set. A rare production but one that grips.

Clearly, the Netherlands have an incredible education system where a world issue can become ingrained and projected through dance. This show takes topical issues, and not only has meshed them in, it’s also in English and feels grounded in London.

Three separate dances that tackle three separate issues. The same troupe of dancers. How do they perform so perfectly? Awesome dance troupe with incredible skill and talent.

A show not to be missed!
