Experience the magic of Charles Dickens’ classic tale as you’ve never seen it before. One Christmas Carol is a spellbinding one-man tour de force, in which actor Gwithian Evans brings all the characters to life onstage in a masterful display of storytelling, passion, and precision.

Every now and again you accidentally stumble into a show that blows you away. With no prior expectations, and after all it’s in the bijou Canal Cafe theatre, this is a rare production that is polished with all the elements coming together.
It’s not a new play but it’s perfectly formed. With Gwithian covering 35 characters impeccably the time flies by and is surprisingly an emotional journey. We all know the story, it’s a classic, but here Gwithian’s sure-footed performance is second to none. Changing roles on a dime and instantaneously becoming another character has got to be experienced to believe it.
The sound and lighting are spot on! Beautifully crafted and incredibly cued by an amazing operator – Holly Jones. Split-second and never missing a beat in the amazing and complex technical values.
Huge credit must also go to the director for pulling this all together. It’s a very dynamic show with a revolving door and several chairs. The characters’ blocking aiding in the comprehension of who’s who and where are they. With comedy and drama in spades this is a production in very experienced hands!
Only on for this one week before hitting the road and doing a mini-tour. Don’t miss this one!
